Requirements

Connecticut Kids & Family is an advertising and media company that serves as a comprehensive resource for both parents and small businesses throughout Connecticut.  Through advertising sales to businesses that serve children and the family, we produce a monthly magazine, comprehensive website, and active social media content.  Parents pick up our monthly full-color, glossy magazine, visit our website, and follow us through numerous new media avenues in order to access information regarding entertainment, services, classes, events, products, and more for children and the family.  Through our three-pronged marketing approach of print, web and social media, we strive to be available to parents wherever they are, whenever they need us.

The ideal candidate is a technology or social media guru in the making. You have excellent writing, grammar, and communications skills and a basic knowledge and comfort with exploring, learning and navigating social media. Most importantly, we are looking for interns with enthusiasm, dedication, a thirst for learning, and the self-motivation to work independently. You must be proficient with technology and have a computer, phone, internet access, and an email account. Applicants of any age (over 18) and any career and educational background can apply. We welcome students as well as those who are unemployed, underemployed, stay-at-home moms and dads, or anyone who wants to further their knowledge and skills in these areas.

The Social Media Coordinator will research various social media platforms, engage in a variety of professional learning environments and ultimately share your new knowledge of various technologies after you become the "expert" on our team. You will learn to use email marketing platforms and may possibly gain exposure to Search Engine Optimization and Content Management tools if time permits.
