Shakespeare on the Sound
5:30 PM - 10:00 PM

Join us this summer for a fresh take on Shakespeare's most popular love story as friends sit down for an after-dinner reading of the play, only to be taken on a ride they'll never forget - straight into the heart of Romeo and Juliet. With threats and banishment, love and death, tragedy and triumph, Romeo and Juliet twists and turns through a summer night that quickly fills with passion, rapture and foreboding – taking us all with it!  Music and Songs by Stew and Heidi Rodewald, Choreography by David Neumann, Set Design by Laura Jellinek, Costume Design by Tilly Grimes, Lighting Design by Keith Parham, Sound Design by Obadiah Eaves, Sound System Design by Jessica Paz. *No performances on Mondays or 4th of July!

Every night at 5:30PM and 6:30PM there is a performance for young audiences in the park.  Our apprentices have devised a short (20 minute) play that introduces the characters and explores the themes of the play in a very approachable and inventive way. There are games and activities for children at the Education and Activity Tent that will be led by our Director of Youth Programs, Claire Kelly. Mask and star making craft activities as well as mazes, maps, puzzles, and interactive theater games. Performances are FREE and open to the public. Suggested Donation: $20/adults, $10/students.  www.shakespeareonthesound.org
